There are several types of loft conversions to consider Which one you decide on will greatly depend on the height of your existing loft - our professional team will work with the space you have and discuss which design you prefer. The types of loft conversion includes:
Hip to Gable Conversion
Most properties have a roof with a sloping side, making the available space limited. A hip to gable conversion will extend your house on the sloping side, replacing the sloping roof with a gable - a vertical wall. The additional space can then be used as an extra bedroom, office or for any other purpose.
With a mansard loft conversion, your roof is flat. The back wall is sloping inwards at a 72-degree angle. This conversion requires large changes to the structure of the roof, you will often be in need of a planning permission.
Rear Dormer Conversion
The dormer loft conversion works as an extension to your existing roof; it will be added vertically on to the sloping roof and provide you with additional floor space. This conversion is the most common as it creates a vast amount of extra living space.
This conversion requires the roofline to be unaltered as the roof light will be fitted against the roofline. Planning permissions is generally not required for this type of extension as it involves no changes to the structure of the roof.
In order to provide our clients with the most comprehensive service, we will assist you with planning permissions and handle everything required for the loft conversion to be carried out.
